I think most probably you won’t have to pay any penalty. Anything can happen. Either you’ll get one of your applications accepted or both rejected. For two applications to be accepted is highly unlikely.

Only one will be accepted. The second one will be rejected.
Dude either you get One or None .. Your action can also be taken as intentional violation of law ..
There are 2 scenarios.. First u applied both form under same Demat No. If yes then only 1 will be accepted.
Secondly, If u have applied under same name but 2 diff Demat Account..then u will get allocation in both the account. Frankly speaking 2nd option is termed as fraud and 1st option will be regarded as a mistake. So better see next time. I think there is no penalty for 1st option.
