For those who know anything about the upcoming VISA IPO, how well do you think it will do in the future?

IPO
Hiram asks:

What are the prospects for VISA’s stock?? Will VISA stock go up over 400% like Mastercard’s? Great stock to have? to hold onto?? Or buy and then sell within a short time??
How well do you think VISA’s stock will do in the short term (2 years) and how well do you think it will do in the long term (5, 10, 20, 30 years from now) ??

go here, this is visa’s s-1 form… it will change from time to time.. until the company goes public…

Right now, I there is no way of knowing…

They don’t list how many shares are planning to be offered….Just how much they plan on making from the sale…

they are stating, by 2012 they will have over 133 billion transactions per year….which is 11% growth a year….from 2006…

they did double their net income from last year… But this wasn’t because of better sales… they actually lost small percent of revenue…

So, basically, if they open their stock price above 15 times p/e its porbably not that good a buy… anything below 11 is great, and anything in between is just okay….

all I can basically tell you..

Let me tell you this, I have picked 2 huge stocks within the last 2 years and both have made a ton. 1 was baidu. had anyone got in on it at the start in the first day theyd have made around 800 percent or 8x what they put in in one day. 2. Mastercard. its now worth around 5 times its opening day value. Now a lot of people in this world are scared and get worried about the market……thats ok but some stocks are surefire winners if you just look into them more. Visa and Mastercard for example are not credit card companies actually. They are payment processing companies. Its actually the perfect business in which they provide the resources to make spending fast and easy and make acquiring money fast and easy. So why are they on all these credit cards you ask? Well the banks that distribute the cards are liable for the credit people useon them. Not visa or mastercard. So now weve established that there is no liability for the important part - people paying what they owe. So all they do is just make money. Now you can hear lawsuits and blah blah blah all you want but in reality look at the big picture. See the trend in the market. Baidu for example is Chinas largest search engine. Google is ours. Without even knowing google had owned prior shares of baidu before it went public, one could see that there are more people in china than the US so it had some major backing with that alone. Then with the fact it was a tech stock and people go nuts over them well nuff said. So back to Visa and Mastercard. Most simply put, when times are good people spend money and when times are tough people use credit. So they win either way and so will the stockholders of these two companies. I can actually see them both going fortune 500 if you ask me. I mean with the ever growing population increase and the even more so growing card distribution going on you just wont lose. To me, Visa is one of those companies that makes the world go round because its known by all. We all know visa is everywhere you want it to be and I suggest to definitely make it one more place. Your stock portfolio. Diversity doesnt mean anything anymore to me when this comes out because I know it will do just that well. I say to definitely hold onto it for 2 years minimum…..that initial surge will be a joke compared to the compounding growth that will come from holding onto it for a while. If you or anyone out there wants to discuss the market or anything to do with visa especially please let me know. I do in depth research as a hobby on stocks and Ill be glad to do a slight consultation for others or pass advice. Thanks and good luck. Im putting 10k into it of my own on opening day.
