Bobbie asks:
www.alibaba.com, the trading (B2B, B2C, C2C) platform is going public in the next few days. I’d like to buy some shares but not sure where I can get them.
The company will be listed on the Hong Kong stock exchange and I am based in the US

This is my understanding of the U.S. market: [International markets may have other rules and regs.] Unless you’re an officer in the company/corporation, the general public isn’t able to buy any pre-IPO stocks.
Thanks for asking your Q! I enjoyed taking the time to answer it!

Yes, that is my real last name!
I have never bought ADR’s but they allow you to buy a foreign stock on the NASDAQ or NYSE if offered. I also would love to buy ALiababa stocks and from what I read in the wsj , there will be a global share offering starting Monday It doesn’t say if it will be Oct 15 . I wonder if anybody knows about these types of trades and if they are available at the beginning of the Ipo’s start or only later when the price is thru the roof. which is kind of typical for china Ipo’s lately
