Im glad you asked this question. In brief, they are expecting one of the largest IPO’s in history, looking to raise almost $10 billion. I have researched the fundamentals and technicalities of this deal and it looks like it will be a huge IPO with TONS of growth left. Here is the main reason why: look at master card for example. they are up huge and visa is actually stronger than master card. better financials and they have a larger percentage of the market sharre. MORE IMPORTANT: people hear credit crunch and think, “why buy a credit company?” heres the thing: visa acts as an intermediary. When people dont pay back their loans on the visa cards, visa doesnt get hit at all, the bank that issued that visa card gets hit. The more people use a visa card rather than cash or check, the more money visa makes. BUY BUY BUY
As soon as I heard Visa was going public, I immediately made plans to liquidate all of my other positions to put it all into this IPO - no matter what the premium is. To think, a stock I might actually hold onto for a while. Can you imagine what the dividends could be? Or the options? *drools*
Seriously though, IPO’s are all about hype, and this is going to be the biggest one since Google. I don’t even see this stock resetting to a normal valuation. After all, who doesn’t have a Visa check card or credit card these days? I’m in, as soon as possible, even if I have to get a cash advance on all my credit cards to do it.
