IPO question about TSON?

Mia asks:
its IPO offer price is $15 according to IPOhome.com, but opened at $25. when it showed up on my TDAmeritrade watchlist it was trading at $24.xx. it had a nice 60% gain but how could’ve i bought it for around the offer price?

you must get an ‘allocation’ from one of the underwriters or a firm participating in the underwriting. you can ask you tda account rep about this, but unless you are a large and sophisticated investor, it’s unlikely that you will be allocated any shares in a IPO. sometimes life just isn’t very fair.
