Microsoft started as a penny stock and kept splitting which kept doubling stocks owned by individual investors. Microsoft does not give dividend , it buys back stocks after it splits and increases value of its stock.
Google started trading at $108+ per share and made a 400% increase within its first year. Google stock has never split but just kept rising.
