Contact Wachovia Securities, a lead underwriter for this IPO. They have been taking indications of interest for some weeks now.
If you want to invest in an IPO, you must have lots and lots of money. Etrade and Fidelity lets you participate in IPOs. Fidelity only lets certain brokerage customers buy shares in the IPO, those with $500,000 in assets at their firm. Note that you have a very small chance of getting shares in a hot IPO like VISA.
Don’t worry about getting in the IPO before it hits the market, just watch Fast Money and Mad Money on CNBC and they will advise once the stock starts trading whether or not it’s priced ripe for jumping in right away or let it come in. Then I suspect if you track it closely over time you’ll be able to eventually buy call options on the dips and should be nice one in your portfolio
Wait for the launch (Big Buildup). Visa will soar on the first day, of course. But be a smart investor and wait at least a week for the dust to settle. You will have an opportunity to buy after the Profit takers are out. Are you in for the long haul? If so this has proven to be the better strategy.
