Why do company go for IPO? Is it true?

Sometimes its to raise capital. Sometimes its to allow the business owners to sell some of their investment. You should certainly monitor your stocks. If you don’t have time to look at them occassionally (not necessarily every day, but every few weeks if they are quality companies). then buy a mutual fund where you pay someone to monitor them.
They go public to raise revenue. That doesn’t necessarily mean they are having financial troubles, though. Perhaps they need the infusion of cash to expand the business. Of course you should monitor your investments regularly, but unless you’re a day trader, it’s pointless to check it every minute.
